Quan D. Tran, MD FACS
Dr. Quan Tran earned his medical degree from The University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) after obtaining his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from The Florida State University in 1996. During medical school, he was awarded The Peacock Anatomy Teaching Fellowship, and was an instructor in anatomy. He went on to complete a five year residency in General Surgery at the Ochsner Clinic of New Orleans where he served as Chief Resident during Hurricane Katrina and the year following. After residency, Dr. Tran started a private practice in Tuscaloosa, AL and held the position of Chairman of Surgery for Northport Medical Center. He is a board certified Fellow of the American College of Surgeons with years of experience prior to relocating to Tallahassee with his fiancée.
Dr. Tran has special interests in minimally invasive surgery including single site surgery (scarless surgery) via the umbilicus. He is a specialist in anti-reflux procedures and performs laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery as well as transoral incisionless fundoplication. He performs a myriad of laparoscopic procedures to include but not limited to colon, gastric, liver, small bowel, gallbladder, appendix, and adrenal surgery. Dr. Tran also performs minimally invasive chest surgery (thoracoscopic surgery) and upper and lower endoscopy.
